We offer a new generation of monodisperse polymer microspheres based on melamine resin (MF). Melamine resin microspheres are made by acid-catalyzed hydrothermal condensation of methylol melamine in the temperature range of 70-100°C in the absence of surfactants. By adjusting the pH, concentration of hydroxymethylmelamine and reaction temperature, monodisperse particles with predictable sizes between 0.5-15 mm can be produced in a one-pot synthesis.
