Saudi Formaldehyde Chemicals Company was established in 1989 as the first private petrochemical company in the GCC. After a successful initial public offering in 2008, the company was renamed Methanol Chemicals Company (Chemanol). It is a Saudi public joint-stock company , with a paid-up capital of SAR 674,508,630. The company is located in Jubail Industrial City with a total annual production capacity of nearly 1 million tons and exports 26 product grades to more than 50 countries in more than 21 different industries.
Today, Chemanol is one of the world's most comprehensive and reliable producers of methanol and its derivatives. The company is also one of the largest single-site formaldehyde producers in the world and the largest producer in the GCC.
Chemanol manufactures high-quality methanol derivatives, including aqueous and urea formaldehyde, superplasticizers, amino resins, hexamethylenetetramine, paraformaldehyde, dimethylformamide, methylamine, pentaerythritol and sodium formate. These products are used in a wide range of applications including agriculture, automotive, pharmaceutical and construction.
