The combination of melt pump and screw extruder can improve the output and quality of extrusion, reduce energy consumption, especially in precision extrusion plays an irreplaceable role in other processing means. It is mostly used for conveying low-viscosity materials in mechanical, chemical, food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Melt pumps were first used in hydraulic systems as a metering and conveying equipment. It was not until the 1960s that melt pumps were applied to the chemical fiber industry, mainly to accurately and quantitatively supply high temperature and low viscosity high polymer melt of the spinnert to avoid the effect of broken wire due to extrusion instability. Since the 1970s, people began to try to use melt pumps for extrusion processing of high viscosity polymer melts. In the era of energy shortage and expensive raw materials, the characteristics of polymer melt pumps are naturally attracting the attention of professionals in the plastic processing industry.
In the international melt pump applied to the rubber industry and achieved actual results is only nearly 20 or 30 years, the main difficulty is that the poor flow of rubber, not easy to flow in the melt pump body "four gaps", followed by rubber is a high-viscosity material, melt pump bearing capacity is large, external metal chips are easy to make gear damaged. At present, A few manufacturers such as BERSTORFF and A-Z companies and MAGG of Switzerland have been able to produce rubber melt pumps. However, in our country, because some key technical problems have not been overcome, there is still a blank in this field. A rubber melt pump device with a output of 1.5 ~ 2t per hour, the price is about 1.3 million yuan, and there is no prototype introduced in China.
